The Islamic Development Bank will provide 4 to 5 billion dollars of loan assistance in several sectors including the development of energy infrastructure in Bangladesh, combating the adverse effects of climate, for three years between 2026 and 2026.

On Tuesday (September 17) at 2:30 in the afternoon, advisor to the Ministry of Finance. Nasis Mohammad Sulaiman, Regional Hub Manager of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) paid a courtesy call on Salehuddin Ahmed. Later he informed the present journalists this information.

He said, in the next three years, we will provide support to Bangladesh’s energy infrastructure development, dealing with the adverse effects of climate, health and energy sectors, and other necessary sectors. It will be provided as per our policy like other Islamic countries. This amount will be 4-5 billion.

At this time, Nasis Sulaiman said in reference to whether the support given to the energy sector through the Arab Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) will be increased, we have discussed this matter.

Then the advisor. Salehuddin Ahmed said, We have asked to invest in sectors like Cyclone Centre, infrastructure damaged by floods, development of marginal communication system, construction of big buildings like Twin Towers.

He said, we talked about increasing the energy assistance, they said they will talk to other donors and inform about the matter. We have told them about many additional funds. Basically they are helping us a lot. More long-term support, they promised.
