A newly discovered video released by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has revealed what has been called “the biggest Hamas tunnel” yet to be discovered by Israel, located under Gaza. The footage included eerie scenes of Palestinian terrorists building the massive 2.5-mile-long labyrinth.

According to Israeli officials, the building of the tunnel was overseen by Mohammad Sinwar, the brother of Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind behind the October 7 attacks. The tunnel is wide enough to accommodate vehicles and heavy equipment, equipped with railroad-like tracks, electricity, and ventilation systems.

The IDF described the discovery as “EXPOSED: The biggest Hamas terrorist tunnel discovered,” and stated that the entrance is located only 400 meters from the Erez Crossing, which is used by Gazans to enter Israel for work and medical treatment in Israeli hospitals.

The video footage also showed Hamas members traveling through and maintaining the large tunnel corridors, giving a rare glimpse into the construction and operations of the terror tunnels. Additionally, the location of the tunnel, near the Erez Crossing, has raised concerns over its proximity to the Israeli border.

Since the war began, Israel has uncovered over 800 tunnel corridors across Gaza, with more than 500 of those corridors destroyed. The IDF has also employed tactics such as pumping seawater into the tunnels to render the “Gaza metro” inoperable, despite risks and concerns over the impact on the groundwater in the Gaza Strip.

The release of the video further underscores the ongoing tensions and security challenges in the region, as efforts to combat the threat posed by Hamas and its underground network continue.
