Tel Aviv: Israel has informed the US that it is going to launch a limited ground operation in Lebanon. This attack may begin within a few hours. An American official confirmed this to CBS News on Monday. Many other media reports also state that Israel can attack Lebanon at any time. Before this, Israel has already carried out hundreds of airstrikes on Lebanon and killed many senior officials including Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Apart from this, Israel has also destroyed Hezbollah’s military structures and arsenal.
Israeli special forces prepared the ground
According to information publicly leaked to the Wall Street Journal, Israeli Special Forces have already prepared a ground attack base in southern Lebanon. They have removed landmines from the area, allowing tanks and other armored vehicles to easily enter Lebanon. Israeli commandos have also conducted recce of the enemy capabilities present in the area. They have provided accurate information about the bases present there, their weapons and numbers to the Israeli Army.
Israel will carry out limited attack on Lebanon
The Washington Post quoted sources in its report as saying that no final decision has yet been taken regarding the size and form of the ground invasion of Lebanon. However, initially, it is expected to be limited to southern Lebanon. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said on Monday that the next phase of the war with Hezbollah on the Lebanese border is set to begin soon and is aimed at achieving the war goal of sending residents of the northern region back to their homes.
