‘Thillukku Tuttu’, and 2 ‘is a film directed by Rambala. Siva, who is emerging as an all-world superstar through ‘Tamil Movie, and 2’, has played the lead role in the film. Both the director and the man choose comedy as their only plot. Anandraj, Urvasi, Singamuthu, Dance Master Sivasankar, Ravi Maria, Myilsamy, Retin Kingsley and many others were expected to be in the comedy film. Did ‘Idiot’ live up to that expectation?

Sethupathi and the commander-in-chief, who are the commanders of the Semmanur estate, conspire for jewelery, deceive the landlord and his family, push them into the cellar and seize the property. Thus, the Zameen family is wandering in the spirit of revenge.

Rasu (Anandaraj), his son Sinrasu (Siva), is the leader of the village Veerapandi, ignorant enough to tie the knot that he even came to carry the Olympic torch. When he leaves home angry for a nasty reason, he gets into an accident and suffers from mental illness. Thus, he is admitted to the psychiatrist Smitha (Nicki Kalrani)’s hospital and begins to fall in love with Nicki. Neelakandi (Akshara Gowda), a witch who has been admitted to the same hospital, is waiting to take the life of Nikki Kalrani. On the other hand, the Ravi Varma team has been following up for years to kidnap and blackmail Nikki Kalrani and extort money from her father. Of these, who was ahead? What happened to Nikki Caulfield who was trapped inside a haunted house? How did Siva, who fell in love with Nikki, save Nikki? The female demons there are like the song sung by Siva’s family.

Hero Siva does his usual comedies regularly and laughs from time to time. But he seems to think that style is the set for him. When will you act like you did in Chennai-28? The heroine Nicki Minaj naturally plays a psychiatrist. That, too, makes the mind flexible with the love, compassion, and respect he shows for those suffering from mental illness. He has acted exactly the role given to him.

Though it is like Madurai Muthu’s standup comedy, it is the Anand Raj-Urvasi alliance that makes us laugh in the film. Singamuthu, Dance Master Sivasankar, Ravi Varma, Myilsamy comedies are not taken seriously. Retin Kingsley joins the fray with his regular dialogue delivery. After Siva, Anandaraj and Urvashi, it was Ravi Maria who mixed the theater a little. That too, kidnapping Nikki and scattering the theater with laughter in the scenes where he bargains with Siva.

The challenge is to capture the humor in its own way. As such, congratulations for trying to make ‘Idiot’ a full-length comedy film. But if it is told as a ghost story, the audience will laugh and enjoy it is like the sentiment within the director. Well, the ghost has taken over the story. Could have made the screenplay a little more stressful. Although there are many comedy scenes where the ghost cuts his nails, crawls on the steps, and the ghost looks at his face in the mirror and runs away in fear, all of them are scenes already seen in many films. In particular, it was like watching Siva’s Tamil film again. As the director of ‘Lollu Sabha’, shouldn’t the film be shot as it is? It is as if ‘Lollu Saba’ has compiled the show as a whole and presented it as a film. But, Lollu Saba is not comedy for the range.

The emphasis on humor from beginning to end is the plus of the story. Political satire verses like ‘You can become a minister if you keep bending over’ are OK. But what the director thought would be a plus for the film was the minus of the film. Haunted Bungalow, Zameen has done the usual comedies like flashbacks that are boring to those who have already seen the thugs for the trill. Even though it is a comedy film, the scenes where father Sivaraj gets angry with his son Siva and leaves the house are handled very playfully. Since it is a comedy film it is not given importance to the story. Siva was not allowed to show whether he was mentally ill until the last. It’s as if the director has left it at that because he will probably act like that anyway. Vikram Selva’s music and Raja Bhattacharjee’s cinematography are not to be underestimated.

All in all, the idiots running around frantically trapped in the haunted bungalow shown in the film are none other than us, the audience.
