Reorganization of the CNPB and strengthening of its human, technical and financial capacities; providing the CNPB with a modern headquarters that reflects the extent of our ambitions; broadening the representativeness of employers; strengthening economic advocacy and social dialogue; …these are the main priorities of the new Burkinabè Employers’ office under the presidency of Idrissa Nassa, PCA of Coris Bank International, for the next five years. Aware of the scale of the mission, the elected president of the CNPB indicates: “I was elected to make employers the natural and legitimate leader of the private sector and its interface with public authorities, social partners and development institutions” . Rejoicing at the outcome of the elections which brought him to the head of the Council, Idrissa Nassa called for turning the page on divisions, clashes and now, together, putting ourselves resolutely at the service of the general interest with a view to the roots of the Burkinabè economy. He promised to be the servant of the bosses and attentive to the workers for the transformation of the national economy. “I measure with depth and humility the scope of their choice, and I would like to tell them that I will be, not the boss of the bosses, but the servant of all the bosses, who will also listen to the workers, so that together we preserved and perpetuated businesses and jobs, for a structural transformation of our economy. We must now together shape a new face of Burkinabè employers which must join, without delay, the rank of strong institutions that our continent needs,” he declared. Faced with representations from sister organizations from countries in the sub-region, Idrissa Nassa made a commitment to work in concert with national and regional authorities and in close cooperation with sister employers’ organizations, to deepen the sub-regional integration for better consolidation of the economic performance of States. “Employers must exercise more assertive leadership in national economic life. Our only reason for being and our only agenda is to contribute further to the inclusive economic growth of our country, to the socio-economic development and well-being of our populations, on the basis of the orientations defined by the Government,” assures Idrissa Nassa. President of the transition, head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who took part in the ceremony in person, was keen to encourage and salute the efforts of the private sector, which provides jobs. “We are here to encourage you, to express our gratitude to you. You have underlined that the private sector, apart from the agricultural sector, employs more than 2,000 Burkinabè people and we can only support and be alongside the private sector,” declared the Head of State who then thanked the private sector. which also supports the struggle for the liberation of the national territory. “Thank you for all the support you have given to this country through the struggle we are waging through your various contributions, from small traders, small producers to large economic operators, everyone has contributed in one way to what we can lead the fight that we are leading today (…) thank you for your resilience because in a context of war, we know that business is hit to the heart but you continue to resist and support the government in its vision “. Speaking of the government’s vision: “endogenous development”, the President of the Transition invited employers to integrate the concept of production into their strategic plan. “I would like to invite employers to include in their agenda, the strategic plan, in our vision which is endogenous development, this concept of production. Because we import a lot and we hope that from January, we will find the necessary formulas so that importers are producers. That they can contribute to the productive project on site here. Those who import rice, let them prepare to invest in rice production…”.
