IECM commissions conclude their management

After two years of work, the Permanent Commissions of the General Council of the Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) concluded their management on the occasion of the upcoming renewal of their members.

In your Ninth Ordinary Sessionthe collegiate bodies presented their final management report, to account for the activities developed through annual work programs, agreements and draft resolutions, as well as matters related to the Ordinary Local Electoral Process 2023-2024 and the preparations for the Participatory Budget Consultation 2025.

In a session on August 5, andl General Council of the IECM approved the extension for the new integration of its auxiliary collegiate bodies until September 30 of this year, in order to continue attention to institutional work in the face of the eventual designation of three new ministries by the National Electoral Institute (INE).

The Permanent Commissions that will be renewed in the coming days and will have a new integration for the next two years correspond to: Political Associations and Inspection; Citizen Participation and Training; Electoral Organization and Geostatistics.

As well as those relating to ECivic Education and Construction of Citizenship; Regulations and Transparency; Monitoring of the Electoral Professional Service; Gender Equality and Human Rights; and Complaints. In addition to the provisional ones that the General Council determines.

The capital’s electoral body highlighted that in accordance with the Code of Electoral Institutions and Procedures of Mexico City, the General Council of the IECM has the assistance of the Permanent Commissions and those of a provisional nature, for the performance of its powers, compliance of obligations and supervision of the proper development of the activities of the executive and technical bodies of the Institute.

These commissions have powers of deliberation, opinion and proposals, and are made up of a presiding councilor and two other members, under the principle of gender parity.
