He Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) updated its 2025 budget project, which includes 883 million 404 thousand 652 pesos for the election of the Judiciary in the capital.
In this way, the IECM will request a total budget of 2 thousand 803 million 843 thousand 729 pesos for its scheduled activities and the financing of political parties.

Of the total requested, one thousand 164 million 603 thousand 121 pesos, correspond to the Operating Expense Ordinary Budget of the Institute, and 168 million 182 thousand 853 pesos, for the Participatory Budget Consultation, the Institute detailed.
Likewise, among the activities to which the resources will be allocated are the design of electoral documentation and materials for the local judicial election, the updating of cartographic products, the hiring of temporary personnel who will support the 33 Deconcentrated Bodies and the maintenance, support, updating and monitoring of the computing and communications infrastructure, detailed the IECM.
On the other hand, only for the public financing of political parties, 580 million 442 thousand 928 pesos are contemplated, which They are equivalent to 21% of the requested resources by the Institute.

“The budget project was prepared under the principles of austerity, efficiency, responsibility in the use of resources, and in strict compliance with the Mexico City Austerity Law”, assured the IECM.

Initially, the IECM asked the capital’s Congress one thousand 920.4 million pesos as a budgetwithout considering the expenses of the election of the Judicial Branch.
In an interview with the media, the president counselor, Patricia Avendaño, estimated that the election of the Judicial Branch in CDMX would cost around one thousand one hundred million pesos, that is more than 50% of the amount requested on December 4.
