IECM promotes civic education in penitentiary centers

Through its​ Civic Playground (Luci), the ⁢ Electoral Institute of‍ Mexico City (IECM) ‌ served 2,301⁤ people in preventive detention, with 21 ⁣workshops in penitentiary centers in Mexico City.

Between January 1 and October⁢ 14, 2024, the Luci carried⁣ out ⁢156 educational interventionsthrough games, activities and theatrical performances in civic education, the ⁢Institute reported.

During this same period ⁣he⁤ offered 103 interventions ⁢in 33 educational centers with primary, secondary, high school and university students,‍ where 6,287 students were served.

“Adolescents from 12​ to 17 years ⁣old were ⁢the ones who attended the educational‍ interventions the most, with 5,145 attendees,⁢ followed ⁤by adults. from 30 to 64 years old, with⁤ 3,374 participants”, he detailed.

This year, the IECM Civic Playground reached 10 thousand participants in its activitiesamong​ students, teachers,⁣ parents, as well as officials ‌from various ‌agencies.

The ⁤activities of the Luci are part of the IECM’s Civic Education‌ and Construction of Citizenship Program ‍2024, which seeks⁤ prioritize work with teachersdetailed the local electoral ​body.
