He Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) announced a consultation of children and young people in schools to reflect on the bullying in educational spaces; and with the results generate strategies to combat it.
Figures thrown up by the National Survey on Discrimination (Enadis) 2022 They point out that of the 11.7 million students between the ages of 12 and 17, 3.3 million acknowledged having been victims of bullying; while 1.3 million children aged 9 to 11 reported having suffered discrimination from their classmates.

With the data presented, and considering this phenomenon as a reality that hurts, but that can be fought through its identification and reflection, the local electoral Institute proposed to address the issue from the school environments learning about the experiences of those who study there.
“The 2024 Consultation for Girls, Boys and Adolescents seeks to give voice to children and adolescents regarding a social phenomenon that undermines the comprehensive development of people,” the IECM explained in a statement.
The results obtained will be shared with authorities of the mayors and institutions dedicated to the protection of girls, boys and adolescents to generate strategies to combat bullying and school harassment.

Girls, boys and adolescents who wish to share their experiences and opinions can do so on the site until September 30th; while staff from the 33 district headquarters of the IECM will visit educational institutions at the primary, secondary y baccalaureate in the capital for the face-to-face survey.
In addition to these actions, during the weekends the local Electoral Institute will install in the main places of children and youth entertainment of the capital electronic devices to carry out the consultation in public spaces.
