The evolution of technology is affecting almost all areas of society, but also, and in a very significant way, security and defense. The conflict in Ukraine has shown that wars are now fought in both physical and digital space. Cyber attacks, disinformation campaigns and fake news are a threat to democratic societies.
Disinformation as a hybrid strategy weapon is as old as war itself, but we are witnessing a new historical milestone, which is being defined as the “fourth industrial revolution”, in which artificial intelligence plays a determining role, which can change the world. world stage. Technological sovereignty in AI must be a strategic objective, with the joint and coordinated participation of public administrations, technology companies, educational systems and verification agencies.
