Importance of industrial mobilization and the difficulty of its implementation.- Jesús Alberto García Riesco
Mobilization implies activating all social resources to respond to the demands of the war; an important part of it is industrial mobilization, a process by which companies are transformed to manufacture war material as a priority.
The two world wars were expected to be short, so they had to be fought with existing supplies, however, they became wars of attrition that forced both sides to make enormous efforts to manufacture weapons; the greater capacity of industrial production was a key factor that determined the allied victory.
If the West wants to dissuade China from launching a high-intensity conflict, it must implement a convincing industrial mobilization because the next conflict would consume vast amounts of war material at its outset.
