Peru: round-trip coup?.- Rocío de los Reyes Ramírez
Peru has been involved in a social outbreak since President Pedro Castillo launched a self-coup last December and ended up arrested and removed from office. A political suicide that led to the appointment of Dina Boluarte, his vice president, as the first president of the Andean nation.
Since then, a state of emergency has been declared throughout the country, while protesters call for the resignation of the president and the early elections, while Congress finds itself wrapped in a political and institutional loop from which it does not seem to get out.
A game-changing political reform is urgently needed to make Peru a governable country.
