War against terror after 9/11: analysis and prospective (reissue).- Pilar Rangel

After two decades of fighting international terrorism since September 11, 2001, an analysis of these twenty years of fighting terror is necessary.

We must analyze the different scenarios where these groups have become present, as well as all the factors that have made it possible, what has been the international response to this threat and what will be the future scenario that we will face.

During these twenty years the international effort to combat terrorism has been great, highlighting among them the Global Coalition against Daesh, especially in Syria and Iraq. However, and despite this, we have seen the increase in these terrorist attacks in recent years and how they have spread geographically, with the groups affiliated with Daesh and Al Qaeda currently present in Africa being especially worrying.

Despite both regional and international efforts in the fight against terrorism, this continues to be one of the main threats we face. Once practically defeated in Syria and Iraq, they have spread to other regions such as the Sahel, Southeast Asia or East Africa.
