Understanding the cooperation between Russia and the People’s Republic of China is vital if you want to analyze the current geopolitical evolution of the world. What at first seemed like a relationship of convenience, formed in order to make a joint opposition to US domination, has crystallized into a strategic pact that leaves the door open for a military alliance. In its development, the leaders of both countries try to configure a new normative dimension, in which authoritarian States have a greater legislative role in the international order. However, since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, their entente is undergoing important changes, which could be beneficial for one party and dangerous in the medium term for the other.
