The culture of peace, the culture of defense and the culture of security in Spain. Education and research. Some ideas for the European Union.- María Pilar Doñate Sanz

At the end of the s. early 20th century XXI, the term culture of peace would be coined by the United Nations Organization in the face of a period that they called a culture of violence; In this period, Spain would begin to talk about defense culture to create ties between the Armed Forces and society when mandatory military service was suspended and finally, after the attacks of September 11, 2001 in the United States, culture would appear of security. The resolutions, laws, plans that have emerged after each culture propose the acquisition of knowledge by the population, among others, through the educational system. Although the three have a different starting point, the complexity of a changing world accompanied by information and communication technologies would lead them to currently share multiple lines of research and work: pandemics, effects derived from climate change , misinformation, etc. Therefore, it would seem appropriate for institutions and associations that work on the culture of peace, defense and security to jointly work on educational content that would allow progress in the constitution of more resilient societies.
