State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat commented that if BNP succeeds in thwarting the elections, undemocratic forces would have emerged in the country.

He made this comment at the Iftar distribution ceremony organized by Bangladesh Awami Jubo League on the occasion of the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17 and National Children’s Day at South Point School and College ground in Mohakhali of the capital on Tuesday (March 19).

The state minister said that BNP wanted to thwart the election on January 7. Awami League has failed the people of this country.

He told the BNP to leave the anti-constitutional apolitical politics of pandering to foreign masters, burning people with arson and disrupting elections and return to practicing pure politics. Be respectful of democracy, politicize the electoral process.

Bangladesh Awami Jubo League President Sheikh Fazle Shams Parsh presided over the event and State Minister of Women and Child Affairs Ministry and Bangladesh Awami League Presidium member Simin Hossain Rimi were present as the chief guest.
