Chandigarh: Twenty years ago, in 2000, it was Sourav Ganguly’s captain who took Indian cricket by storm. What enabled him to do that was to win 15 consecutive Tests as a world champion and to reach India and conquer the final shore by defeating Steve Waugh’s Australia.
India won the first Test of the series against Australia in 2001, winning the second Test in Kolkata and the third Test in Chennai. And put an end to Australia’s unbeaten run. It was this victory that made Ganguly strong in Indian cricket as a captain.

Harbhajan said Ganguly had a lot of support in his career but he could not have ended his career better without his hard work. Ganguly supported me from within. Thank you for that.
