Director Sethu says that Sachi’s stories are a process that only he can do. He said that if someone else takes Sachi’s story and writes it, it won’t be a Sachi film. Sethu said this in an interview given to Reporter Live while sharing details of his new film ‘Mahesh and Maruti’.
‘Sachi’s stories are a process that only Sachi can do. If it is written by someone else, it is not a Sachi film. Even now, there is a part of me that I should not take Sachi’s story and write a script for it and say that this is Sachi’s film. I would say that ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ was Sachi’s first film. Because, before that, we used to do films only when the interests of both of us seemed to be the same. When Ayyappan also comes to Koshi, he knows that there is a politics in it. The story of the movie is told on another level. So, if I or someone else makes a film based on Sachi’s story, it will not be a ‘Sachi movie’, Sethu said.
‘Maheshum Marutiyum’ is a film starring Asif Ali and Mamta Mohandas. Sethu himself has written the screenplay for the film. The film is produced by Maniyan Pillai Raju Productions in association with VSL Films. Maniyan Pillai Raju, Vijay Babu, Siva, Hariharan, Vijay Nellis, Varun Dhara, Dr. Rony Raj, Premkumar Vijayakumar, Sadiq, Ivala Babu, Prashant Alexander, Kunchan, Krishnaprasad, Manu Raj and Divya also play the lead roles.
