The 15th season of IPL has reached its final stage. With the league matches over, the playoffs begin on May 24th. The first qualifier on May 24 and the Eliminator on May 25 will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The 2nd qualifier on May 27 and the final on May 29 will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

As it is raining in Kolkata, the competition is likely to be affected by the rains. So let us look at the rules issued by the BCCI on how matches are conducted in the event of rain interruption and how the results of matches are determined.

1. An additional 120 minutes will be allocated for each playoff match.

2. Rainfall during the play-off matches will be watched till a maximum of 9.40 pm. The playoffs will start at 9.40pm whenever possible. The final will start at a maximum of 10.10pm. The play-offs will start at 9.40pm and the final at 10.10pm with full 20-over matches to be played.

3. Reserve Day is allotted for the final. The final scheduled for May 29 in Ahmedabad will be postponed to May 30 due to rain.

4. Play-off matches will be reduced to 5 overs on the scheduled day if required.

5. The cut-off time to host the playoffs as 5 over matches is 11.56pm. The cut-off time for the final 5 over match is 12.26 AM.

6. The final will start on May 29, but if the match cannot be completed due to rain, it will be held on Reserve Day.

7. If the play-off and eliminator matches cannot be played for at least 5 overs, the result will be decided by throwing only one Super Over.

8. If the Super Over is not bowled, the result of the match will be announced at the end of the league round depending on the position of the teams in the points table.
