Betar Jerusalem fans in protest against Moshe Hogg (Hagai Michaeli)

Following the announcement of the budget control authority that Beitar Jerusalem has received an extension of another week to settle its affairs and transfer the budget to next season, about 200 of the group’s fans came tonight (Sunday) to demonstrate outside the house of owner Moshe Hogg. Later, the demonstrators continued towards the house of the chairman of the Football Association, Oren Hasson, and protested there as well.

Following riots from previous protests, police did not allow fans to enter the street and they crowded into a corner. The protest was relatively calm, until a distillery was lit and things warmed up. The protesters shouted: “If Moshe celebrates he will not release, you will not change anymore.” After a fireworks display was lit in protest, police began clearing the incident.

As you may recall, last Thursday Betar was supposed to transfer the budget, but received another extension after the control plenum convened. According to the announcement, the Jerusalemites have a one-week extension to transfer the budget and if they do not meet it, they will be relegated to the National League without the need for additional convergence.
