If Ranil had won in 2005 the country would have become a developed country Samara Sampath Dasanayake

State Minister Samara Sampath Dasanayake has said that President Ranil Wickramasinghe has proven in a short period of time that he is a successful and operationally oriented leader.

He said this while speaking to the media while assuming his duties as the Minister of State for Primary Industries.

Opposition parties are criticizing the appointment of 37 state ministers at a time when the country is bankrupt, the cost of living has increased and the country is suffering from an economic storm.

However, the opposition parties have forgotten that all 37 people got the government ministerial posts with the aim of serving the people only by receiving the salary of a member of Parliament.

Ranil Wickramasinghe is the leader the country needs with a successful operational mission. He has shown it well in a short span of time.

Ranil Wickremesinghe’s victory in the 2005 presidential election would have been assured if the political conspirators had struck a deal with the LTTE in 2005 and prevented voting in the north.

If he had been elected president that day, Sri Lanka would have become the most advanced and powerful country in the world.

The United People’s Powers are daydreaming that the President will dissolve Parliament and hold general elections after February 2023.

However, after the 22nd Constitutional Amendment Act was taken up for debate in Parliament, the President has assured the parliamentarians of our ruling party that he will include a clause that the parliament cannot be dissolved before the end of four and a half years after the committee has been elected.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is a respected leader. After he became the president, aid started pouring in from all over the world.

I have firm hope that he will bring the country out of economic crisis before 2023. Someone like Nimal Siripala de Silva should become the leader of our freedom party.

Samara Sampath Dasanayake added that if Dayasiri and Amaraweera are attempting the leadership of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, they should be reminded that political maturity and educational qualifications are very important to assume the leadership of the party.
