BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, ‘If we can hold a good election and bring victory from the people then we will be successful. You have to remember that this victory of ours is the victory of the students. A circle is trying, conspiring to thwart this victory. Various newspapers are publishing news about BNP’s image being damaged. BNP has nothing to do with these activities. If you see someone doing extortion, catch him and give him to the police immediately. We will not have any recommendation in this regard.’
On Saturday (August 31) at 11:30 a.m., he said these things when he came to distribute relief at Chhota Sharifpur High School ground of Bhulin South Union of Comilla Lalmai Upazila.
Mirza Fakhrul said, ‘We fought against Hasina for 15-16 years. There are very few of you who have not been prosecuted. You have become restless after going to court. That situation has ended. We must hold on to this time of the end.’
He said, ‘The age of the new interim government is only twenty-two days. We need to give them time to conduct a fair election. It will not be right to talk too much in the beginning.’
BNP Chairperson’s advisor and former Member of Parliament Monirul Haque Chowdhury, Principal Salim Bhuiyan, Organizing Secretary of Comilla Division of BNP, Relief and Rehabilitation Affairs Secretary of Central BNP and Convenor of Comilla South District BNP Haji Aminur Rashid Yachin and others spoke at this time.
Besides, Comilla Metropolitan BNP convenor Udbatul Bari Abu and member secretary Yusuf Molla Tipus along with the leaders and activists of district, upazila and various units of BNP, Juba Dal, Chhatra Dal and allied organizations were present.
Later, Mirza Fakhrul addressed the rally of BNP organized by Nangalkot Upazila.
