Netflix is all the rage with the horror movie Sister Death: it was released on October 27, beating Halloween, and it is already one of the best of the year. It is about a novice, called La Niña Santa, who at a girls’ boarding school has horrifying visions about the secrets of nuns under Franco. Veronica
Hermana Muerte is a prequel to Verónica, from 2017, and by the same director Paco Plaza:; This took place in the ’90s and was the story of an older sister who suffered from an absent mother and from taking care of her siblings. Everything derived from possessions and other elements: a permanent game between reality and fantasy.
“Sister Death” already appeared in Verónica: a blind nun (Consuelo Trujillo) who, with her eyes blank, seemed to sense what surrounded the central character. If Hermana Muerte goes back to 1949, and talks about this novice, Narcisa, when finishing it it is essential to go to Verónica to see the relationship between both films.

The abyss of hell
This 2022 film by Polish filmmaker Bartosz M. Kowalski tells the story of Marek, an undercover police officer who infiltrates a church linked to a series of disappearances and discovers the dark side of its clergy.
The year is 1957 in a remote region of Poland and a distraught Catholic priest throws himself at the altar of a church to try to kill a baby with a particular mark. Is it the devil made flesh? The cleric is shot dead by the police before he can certify it with his dagger. 30 years later, police officer Marek (Piotr Zurawski) arrives at some ecclesiastical buildings and is greeted by Prior Andrzej (Olaf Lubaszenko). What will be revealed there will be horrifying.

The boy
This 2016 production features a young American, Greta (Lauren Cohan), who comes to work as a nanny in a town in the United Kingdom. She will be a tremendous surprise when she discovers that the one she has to take care of is a porcelain doll: the family treats him like a human being.
Even though Greta thinks it’s all a joke, she slowly realizes that the Heelshire family really sees the doll as their son. The hostess tells Greta that she must wake him up in the morning, dress him, and read to him. She also tells him that he is fond of music and that she likes to listen to it at a very exaggerated volume. And she can’t get any further ahead: the terror continues until the end.
In “The Child”, a young woman must care for a doll as if it were flesh and blood.
The curse is reborn
This 2020 supernatural horror film was produced by Sam Raimi and has a strong plot. A single mother and a detective investigate the bloody multiple homicide of a woman against her family. While they investigate, they realize that the house where the tragedy occurred is cursed.
It stars Andrea Riseborough, Demián Bichir, John Cho and Betty Gilpin. The curse is reborn is that it is the fourth sequel to the saga of The Scream. And the starting point is similar: each person who enters this house in which a man killed his wife, his son and the family’s black cat, immediately begins to be haunted by the ghosts of the victims.

Come to play
This production with Gillian Jacobs shows a family whose child on the autism spectrum begins to have strange behaviors. Oliver uses a smartphone to communicate. Desperate for a friend, he seeks solace within an e-book called Misunderstood Monsters. And who appears?
Among the characters in the book is Larry, who tells his story to the boy. But when Larry uses Oliver’s devices against him to break into our world, the parents must fight to save his son. Come Play is a remake of the short film Larry, from 2017. A film that not many dare to finish watching!
