Requirements for help
To access this benefit, the beneficiary must not have the right to receive an ordinary contributory benefit, must have 60 days of contributions in the artistic sector in the 18 months prior to applying for the social shield, or demonstrate having contributed 180 days as an artist in the last 6 years before the legal unemployment situation.
The aid request can be made through the SEPE electronic headquarters, marking “Request for contributory benefit (registration or resumption)”. In the “Observations” field, you must indicate ‘Special artist benefit’. It can also be requested in person at a SEPE office by appointment. Another option is to request by phone, through 060.
The amount and duration of this aid are 480 euros per month (80% of IPREM) for 4 months. However, if the contribution base for the last 60 days was greater than 60 euros per day, the beneficiary would be entitled to 100% of the monthly IPREM, that is, 600 euros per month.
