SAO PAULO (Reuters) – The iFood delivery app has laid off 25 people in its financial area, in a new round of company cuts in 2023, according to a company statement on Tuesday.

iFood, which had already laid off 355 people at the end of the first quarter, said that the new decision is in line with “the strategy of making its priority business fronts more efficient in its operating costs”.

The company stated that the measure was necessary for the business unit to remain healthy and profitable.

In March, iFood laid off around 6.3% of the company’s staff, citing the global economic scenario.
