Many years ago, a 50-year-old patient was treated by Dr. Norbert Mülleneisen presented. He complained of dyspnea in high humidity and weather changes, and coughing with whitish sputum. When asked about seizure-like or nocturnal symptoms, he said no, as well as about chest pain and coughing up blood. The man reported that as an electrician he sometimes had to solder, but was never exposed to other vapours, dust or gases. As a child he suffered repeatedly from middle ear infections, the adenoids had been removed from him. The patient had known shortness of breath since childhood. Thanks to various “curative procedures” it had not gotten worse for a long time. The allergological history was largely empty. Chronic bronchitis was found in the family history.
