Ignacio Riveracurrent president and CEO of the brewing group Sons of Rivera Corporation (Star Galicia) will be the new president of the Family Business Institute (IEF), as decided by the board of directors of this organization, which proposes him for the position. If the members’ assembly ratifies it in May, Rivera will relieve Andrés Sendagorta, whose mandate, which began in May 2022, ends as established by the statutes of this lobi, which brings together around a hundred of the main companies controlled by relatives. The proposal has been adopted after consultation with the Institutional Commission and in accordance with the statutory framework of the association.
If his candidacy is successful, as usually happens with the proposals of the board of directors, Rivera will become the sixteenth president of the Institute. Ignacio Rivera Quintana (A Coruña, 1965) heads the family brewing company founded in Galicia in 1906. He belongs to the fourth generation of the family and is the great-grandson of its founder.
Hijos de Rivera is a Galician, independent company with 100% national and family capital, whose main activity focuses on the manufacturing and distribution of beer. It is present in the premium segment with its most recognized brand, Estrella Galicia, and in the specialty segment with the 1906 family. The company also has extensive activity that covers both the water sector (with the brands Cabreiroá, Cave Water, Fontarel and Auara) as a national beverage distribution.

Currently, Hijos de Rivera contributes 2,500 million euros to the Spanish economy and represents 1% of the GDP in Galicia, where it maintains its headquarters. Ignacio Rivera joined the company in 1990 and in 1994 he assumed commercial and marketing management.
