As reported by the Utena county VPK, on June 22. In the Ignalina district, a man seriously injured his finger while working in the garden. In a state of shock, he took his phone and ran towards the main road hoping for help and spotted a police crew nearby.
Eividas Nikitinas and Mindaugas Buivydas, specialists of the Road Police Department of the Chief Police Commissariat of Utena County, immediately responded to the man’s request for help. They put the injured man in an official car and rushed him to Visaginas hospital.
After the initial medical examination, the man decided to go to Utena Hospital. While his relatives were being taken to Utena, he noticed the same police car again in the town of Visaginas and stopped the officers again.
The man explained the situation, so the officers rushed the injured man to the Utena hospital with beacons and sound signals. And after the medical examination, the officers took the man from Utena to Vilnius and handed him over to the doctors of the Lazdynai hospital.
Some time after this incident, the injured man himself also addressed the Utena county VPK with thanks. He said the officers saved his life.
“The finger was stitched up, a long road of rehabilitation awaits, after which it is likely that the activity of the finger will be partially restored, but the most important thing is that it is in its place,” says the injured man in his thanks to the police.
