Through a press release, the European global announced that the opening of its third store in Colombia will be on October 9 at 10:00 a.m.
“Medellín is a fundamental part of our journey in Colombia and we are excited to bring our democratic design approach to this vibrant region. We are ready to welcome our new neighbors and accompany them every step of the way to transform their spaces,” said Hasbleidy Castañeda, Manager of IKEA Colombia.
The new headquarters of the Swedish multinational is located in the Viva Envigado shopping center, at a point with direct access from nearby avenues and 200 meters from the metro station.
On an area of 18,000 square meters, visitors will be able to take a tour of two fully furnished apartments, 58 exhibition spaces and 27 inspiration rooms.
“There, we will not only offer a wide range of furniture and decorative items, but we will also have a restaurant serving traditional Swedish food alongside local options. This comprehensive approach is designed to offer an enriching shopping experience, where every visit becomes an opportunity to be inspired and enjoy,” the statement said.
The warehouse will offer more than 6,000 products, of which 64% will be available for immediate collection, with specific areas such as children’s and home.

The company said that in an effort to achieve sustainability, the IKEA Envigado headquarters will have systems that regulate energy and water consumption.
The opening of the new store, the third in Colombia after Bogotá and Cali, will also include activities and contests for all attendees: “People who make a purchase of any value of furniture and decoration will be able to participate in the drawing for one of the 1,000 IKEA prizes, or one of the 10 vouchers worth $3,000,000 to redeem for products from the brand,” the note highlighted.
