IKAN, Aug. 19, 2024 – Iksan Prison Set is transforming into a hub of eerie entertainment and technological innovation with the upcoming Iksan Horror Hologram Festival. This 7-day event promises a unique blend of horror experiences, stage performances, cosplay competitions, and more, all under the theme of ‘Mystery Research Institute-Unlimited Experiment.’
The festival, running from Aug. 18-21 and Aug. 28, will feature interactive elements like stage performances, horror sports, and a cosplay competition with categories such as “Blood Moon Dance,” “Cost Runway,” and the “Horror Cosplay competition.” Attendees can also participate in the “Skeleton Quarterly Challenge.”
Beyond the scares, the festival grounds will host exhibitions, photo zones, character shows, food courts, flea markets, and merchandise shops.To manage crowds and accessibility, attendees are advised that parking at the venue is unavailable. Shuttle buses will be provided from the northern building (Hamyeol) and Iksan Station. Pre-booking is available online at www.holofest.kr until Aug. 17.
Hologram Expo to Showcase Industry Advancements
Adding to the city’s tech-forward initiatives, Iksan will also host the ‘2025 Hologram Expo’ from November 20-22 at Wonkwang University’s Cultural Gymnasium. This three-day expo aims to popularize and expand the hologram industry by showcasing the latest technologies and achievements.
The expo’s program includes opening events, technology forums, performance sharing, and interactive exhibition and experience booths. This event serves as a platform to share the progress and achievements in fostering the hologram industry, as highlighted by Chung Heon-yul.
Iksan City officials convened on Aug.1st at the City Hall conference room for an interim report on the 4th Iksan Horror Hologram Festival. During this meeting, they reviewed program progress, discussed safety management measures, and finalized plans for the event’s successful execution. Concurrently, an initiation meeting for the ‘2025 Hologram Expo’ was held to consult on operational direction and preparations.
