BOLZANO. One year and ten months, with conditional suspension of the sentence, and 5 thousand euros in compensation. It is the sentence imposed by the Bolzano judge Walter Pelino to the two carabinieri of the Parcines station, in Alto Adige, accused of forgery of a public document, illegal arrest and slander, with the aggravating circumstance of the teleological connection. For them, prosecutor Francesca Sassani had asked for four years.

The disputed facts date back to May 2019 when, according to what was reconstructed by the Prosecutor’s Office, after having arrested a man, they ran into his brother as he was leaving prison and addressed him “joking” greeting. He responded with “outrageous” words, and one of the two carabinieri pushed him, causing him to fall to the ground, before arresting him on charges of resisting a public official in flagrante delicto.

Before drawing up the arrest report, they viewed the videos from the prison cameras and, “realizing the seriousness of their conduct – explained the prosecutor -, not being able to delete the images, they adjusted their aim, adding details to the arrest report which remains a fake“, in the part where we read that it was the man who attacked the soldiers. The reasons are expected in 90 days.
