700 quintals of rice seized from mill in Yadgir, BJP leader’s brother absconding
In a shocking turn of events, the Yadgir Surpur police have seized 700 quintals of rice from a mill in the area, which was being used for polishing and sale under the Annabhagya scheme. The police have also arrested a gang of five people who were involved in the illegal activity.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the rice mill belonged to Raju Rathod, the brother of Chittapur BJP leader Manikanta Rathod. The gang was involved in polishing and selling the ration rice at exorbitant prices. The police conducted a raid at Raju Rathod’s rice mill in Gurmitkal and seized 700 quintals of ration rice, of which 630 quintals had already been polished.
The remaining 70 quintals of rice were kept for polishing. However, Raju Rathod is currently absconding and the police are actively searching for him. The Surpur DSP, Javed Inamdar, led the raid and has vowed to take strong action against those involved in the illegal activities.
