He rented sunbeds, deck chairs, umbrellas and beach equipment to bathers at San Francesco beach in Forio, without any authorization and in exchange for payment of sums of money, but for some time the men of the Ischia Coast Guard had been keeping him under observation.

This morning, Commander Magi’s men launched a large-scale state police operation, as part of the national initiative Safe Sea and Lakes of the General Command of the Port Authority Corps and under the coordination of the Maritime Directorate of Naples, which led to the referral of the illegal rental company who was renting out two sunbeds and a deckchair for 20 euros for an estimated turnover of around 500 euros per day.

During the operation, 50 sun loungers and deck chairs, 30 umbrellas, canoes, sups and numerous other pieces of equipment were seized; in addition to seizing the equipment, the maritime authority also proceeded to free up approximately 110 square metres of state-owned maritime beach, which was then returned to the free use of bathers. The military reported the illegal rental company to the Public Prosecutor’s Office
