jpnn.comJAKARTA – Patrick Kluivert officially becomes coach of the Indonesian National Team replacing Shin Tae Yong.

Kluivert admits that he is a person who likes pressure.

This 48 year old coach revealed this when asked how he faced high pressure from Indonesian fans to take the Garuda squad to the 2026 World Cup.

“I’m a person who likes pressure,” said Kluivert at his introductory session at the Mulia Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday (12/1). “This is football,” he added.

Kluivert arrived in Indonesia after Shin Tae Yong built the national team for five years.

Under Shin’s guidance, Indonesia advanced to the third round of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, occupying third place with six points from six matches.

With the remaining four matches to be played, Indonesia’s chances of qualifying for the World Cup directly or through the fourth round are still wide open.

When asked what he would do in the near future, Kluivert stated there was no other choice but to have an immediate impact in the form of victory.
