Popular movie franchise ‘Dabangg’ starring Salman Khan. The third installment of this series was released in theaters on December 20, 2019. Actress Sai Manjrekar acted opposite Salman in the movie. At that time Salman was 54 years old and Sai Manjrekar was 17 years old.
Sai Manjrekar romanced 37-year-old Salman Khan in the movie ‘Dabangg 3’. Sai faced criticism for romancing such an older actor. But did the negative criticism early in his career affect Sai Manjrekar? Sai opened up about this after a long time. Said – the skin of his body is thick.
In an interview to Siddharth Kanan, Sai Manjrekar said, ‘I was definitely in the discussion at that time. Because my journey had only just begun. I had no people for management, I had no PR. So I was unaware of everything. But I was happy to see myself on the big screen.’
Mentioning that the negative criticism did not affect Sai Manjrekar, he said, ‘After the release of the film, I was not active on Instagram for 6 consecutive months. Which was criticized at the time. After 6 months the impact of the incident did not hit me. In fact, I was at a different stage in my life and career.’
Sai Manjrekar comments that he is a thick-skinned man. In his words – ‘I am a very thick-skinned person. Nothing can be influenced easily. I have been like this since childhood. I will still be happy if someone compliments me, if someone says something negative I will take note of it. But it doesn’t affect me deeply. I’ll just move on.’
Bollywood actress Sai Manjrekar was born on 29 August 1998 in Mumbai. His father is actor-director Mahesh Manjrekar, mother is producer Medha Manjrekar.
Chukan Sai taught school-college lessons in Mumbai. He dreamed of making a career in acting and dancing since his childhood. Sai helped director Mahesh in the movie ‘Viruddha’. Sai acted as a child artist in a Marathi movie called ‘Kaksparsh’ released in 2012. It is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. Sai’s mother Medha also acted in it.
The movie ‘Dabangg 3’ was released in theaters in 2019. Sai Manjrekar played the role of Salman Khan’s lover in it. Sai started his journey to Balipara holding Salman Khan’s hand, but could not create a separate identity for himself.
Hindi movie ‘Aro Mein Kaha Dum Tha’ starring Sai was released in theaters on August 2. Ajay Devgan-Tabu acted in a pair in it. Shantanu acted opposite Sai Manjrekar in this movie. The actress has portrayed the character of Tabu’s young age on screen. It also flopped at the box office.
