This false cover is enough to disconcert the listener: in terms of style, accuracy and intonation, the copy is impressive and confusing. The lyrics may, at first glance, seem far from his usual universe: “Ice and gold, gun close to the body, death’s money, young moula coming out”. But in reality, Angèle is familiar with French rap: she has already collaborated with her compatriots Damso or Hamza.
Total redesign of the song
This fake song was created by beatmaker Lnkhey. And for this, the composer first put his own voice on the sound, before integrating his version into music creation software coupled with a model of Angèle’s voice. The melodies of the initial track have also been modified to stick to the more pop and acoustic sounds of the 27-year-old singer.
The new song then reached the ears of the main interested party, who reacted on TikTok, staging herself by listening to the modified version. “I don’t even know what to think of artificial intelligence. I think it’s crazy but at the same time I’m afraid for my job, ”she writes.
This phenomenon has become more and more recurrent lately. The voices of Johnny Hallyday, Amy Winehouse or John Lennon have been revived recently. But these deepvoice (misleading voice generated by an AI) can also cause trouble: for several weeks, Hollywood screenwriters and actors have been protesting against the use of artificial intelligence in their profession.
