Imbabura: MAG delivers 62 pasture kits to strengthen the livestock sector

Imbabura, To benefit 53 producers from the cantons of Ibarra, Urcuquí and Otavalo, in the province of Imbabura, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), through the District Directorate, delivered 62 kits for sowing improved grass and certificates from the Learning Communities of Family Farming.

María Augusta Terán, MAG District Director in Imbabura, said that the delivery of livestock supplies, which are very important for all producers, is being fulfilled. “As the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, we emphasize our commitment to producers, since the province has great potential in livestock and agriculture,” said Terán.

Through the 62 kits, producers will be able to obtain better quality pasture so that animals have a nature-friendly diet with a focus on climate change. They will also be able to optimize sustainable production and strengthen knowledge in the livestock sector. The investment made by the MAG in the delivery of kits to strengthen the livestock sector amounts to more than 22 thousand dollars.

Benitez, a beneficiary, thanked MAG for its vision and effort in developing actions to benefit the livestock sector in the area. “We left these workshops with new knowledge and the conviction that we can apply it to improve our living conditions,” said Benitez.

Additionally, the MAG awarded 9 graduation certificates from the AFC Learning Communities, which are learning spaces where technicians in the field impart innovative knowledge that respects ancestral roots to achieve sustainable production.
