BerlinWhat are the citizens’ beliefs about migration? What criteria do you apply when it comes to membership? How equitable are immigrants judged? And what kind of exclusion do immigrants experience? The representative study ZuGleich is dedicated to these questions, in which the attitudes towards integration in the German population between 2014 and 2020 were asked. The study has now been published by Stiftung Mercator and Bielefeld University.

The period is particularly relevant because the first recording took place before the increased immigration of Syrian refugees in 2015 and the last recording in the year of the pandemic, when the borders were mostly closed.
