Marine Le Pen did not close the door this Sunday to the National Rally group voting on Monday the rejection motion tabled by environmentalists on the immigration bill, which would interrupt its examination from the start of the debates if it were adopted .

“We will discuss it tomorrow (Monday). There are arguments for and arguments against. The argument against is that obviously we want to debate because Mr. Darmanin says everything and the opposite of everything. At some point, he will have to explain his position to his opponents,” declared Marine Le Pen, guest at the Grand Rendez-Vous Europe 1/Cnews/Les Echos.

“The pros are that it is quite obvious that we are head-on opposed to this immigration law which in reality creates a new additional immigration channel when we can already see that we are overwhelmed by anarchic immigration,” she added.

If the 88 RN deputies, the left and part of the LR voted on this motion of rejection on Monday, it would have a strong chance of being adopted and the examination of the bill, and of the more than 2,600 amendments tabled, would be interrupted straight away.

“There are some measures that are going in the right direction”

The shuttle between the Assembly and the Senate would then resume on the basis of the Senate text which “is not perfect but less worse”, according to Marine Le Pen. The president of the RN group has no difficulty voting for a motion tabled by environmentalists. “We can be opposed to a text for different reasons,” she explained, especially “when it is designed on a toxic substance at the same time.”

Marine Le Pen admitted “that there are some measures which go in the right direction” such as “removing the restriction on the expulsion of a certain number of people who threaten public order”. The RN deputies “could have voted for it (the bill) if it had not been for the immigration measures”, such as the facilitated regularization of undocumented workers occupying jobs in professions in shortage.

She welcomed the fact that LR “takes up almost word for word all of our proposals” on immigration. “The National Rally is the center of gravity of political ideas in France. We no longer have to fight too much about the fact that we are experiencing a migratory apocalypse, that insecurity is largely linked to immigration, etc.,” she said.

The former and likely future candidate for the presidential election “does not believe” that Emmanuel Macron can restore “a taste for the future” as he said to Le Monde, referring to “a meeting with the Nation” in January. “To give hope to the country, perhaps he should appoint Jordan Bardella as Prime Minister,” she said.
