The Biancoceleste center forward and Lazio captain will leave after 8 seasons. Baroni’s team has already left for a retreat for Auronzo, without him
Rome, 11 July 2024 – Lazio and Besiktas have reached a definitive agreement for the transfer of Ciro Immobile to Turkey. The Istanbul club has already prepared a two-year contract to present to the Italian striker, which provides for a much higher salary than the 4.5 million euros he received at Lazio. The Biancoceleste center is therefore expected to lead and captain in Türkiye. Meanwhile, the team of the new coach Marco Baroni left for the usual defender in Auronzo, without Immobile himself. A sign worth a thousand words.
During his career in the Lazio ranks, Immobile scored 201 goals and provided 49 assists, scoring a total of 250 goals. Since 2012/13, his output in terms of goals and assists is at least 50 goals higher than any other player in the Italian league (the second most productive is Domenico Berardi with 200 goals/assists). This impressive tally includes his past spells at Genoa and Torino, but most of his success has come since 2016, when he became a key figure in Lazio’s attack.
However, his final year was disappointing, with just 7 goals and 1 assist.
