Since November 24, a petition calling for a vote of no confidence in Justin Trudeau has made a lot of noise in Canada. It has already collected more than 340,000 signatures, becoming the most signed online petition in the history of the Canadian House of Commons.

Written by Conservative MP Michelle Ferreri and referenced under the title “ e-4701 », this petition is enough to make the Canadian Prime Minister tremble. In any case, it’s not a question of beating around the bush.

Particularly brief, the text explains that “the current elected government is not acting in the best interest of all citizens”, in particular because “the policies of this government do not align with the crisis facing Canada: cost of housing, violation of civil liberties, highest inflation in history, unbalanced immigration policies, taxation to the point of poverty, weakening our economy by importing natural resources that Canada already has and that it is underutilized.

For this, Michelle Ferreri writes that Canadian citizens have “lost confidence in Justin Trudeau and the Liberal/New Democrat coalition”.

The petition therefore calls for the Assembly to organize a vote of confidence against Justin Trudeau, and for it to hold elections 45 days after the vote if it is won.

Signatures are still open for all Canadians until December 24, but given that the petition has already surpassed the previous record of 287,000, it’s a safe bet that 2024 will start off with a bang for the Liberals.

For the moment, it is the states of Ontario – where Michelle Ferreri is elected, Alberta and British Columbia which have recorded the most signatures; respectively 136,174, 81,261 and 54,497.
