In the last few weeks alone, there have been more than 15 accidents involving two-wheelers and some have been seriously injured. Most of these accidents happen at night and the cause of the accidents is the bicyclists traveling without lights.

Therefore, in Vavunia district, two-wheeler riders must have dynamo-equipped lights and two-wheeler riders must strictly adhere to road rules and avoid crowding two-wheelers and legal action will be taken against those who violate these rules, Roshan Chandrasekara, the officer in charge of the traffic division of Vavunia Chief Police Station, added.
