by time news

The third bi-monthly payment for the child allowance, which concerns the months of May and June, will be disbursed on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the last working day of the month, along with the other allowances, as informed by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and the OPEKA since the beginning of the month.

It is reminded that the platform has been closed since July 5 and is not accepting new applications until the clearance and disbursement of the third bi-monthly payment is completed.

When will the platform be reactivated

Upon completion of the payment, the electronic platform will be reactivated for new applications on Wednesday, July 31, at 8 a.m.

Interested beneficiaries are reminded that in order for the child allowance to be granted, the application must have been definitively submitted and approved. An application that has been temporarily saved is considered not submitted and will not be taken into account.

What is the child allowance

The child allowance is granted from the first child, and the total amount is determined by the number of dependent children and the category of family income. The amount of the allowance is €70 or €42 or €28 for each child for the first and second child per month, depending on the income level, and €140 or €84 or €56 from the third and for each additional child, per month.

To grant the child allowance, it is required to submit an electronic application annually through the IDIKA website or the OPEKA on the special platform, by the person obligated to submit the income tax return or their spouse using their personal taxisnet codes.

The fields of the A21 application are pre-filled, drawing data from the AMKA. During the submission stage – through the online connection of IDIKA with AADE – the annual incomes of the family members participating in the A21 are pre-filled in the application.

The child allowance is provided to over 900,000 families and concerns more than 1.5 million children, while the annual expenditure amounts to approximately €1,050,000,000. It is paid in 6 bi-monthly installments based on the data from the last settled tax return.
