In the meantime, Mithila has acted in several Kolkata movies. In the middle of last year, it was known that Mithila is going to appear on the screen as Saratchandra Chatterjee’s ‘Abhagi’. The movie ‘O Abhagi’ is being made based on the story ‘Abhagir Swarg’ by this famous fiction writer. It is being built by Anirban Chakraborty of Kolkata. In the meantime, the shooting has been completed. The movie will be released on March 29.
Director Anirban Chakraborty is impressed with Mithila’s performance. Sharing that experience, the filmmaker said, ‘The way I think of Abhagi, Mithila is a great fit for the role. So I chose Mithila for this role. Mithila looked stunning as she posed in front of the camera with makeup on. Then when I worked with Mithila, I realized that she exceeded what I wanted. Very happy with Mithila’s work.’
In this movie, Mithila played the role of a 16-year-old and a 30-year-old woman. The director also said that Mithila fits the two roles very well.
Director Anirban said, “O Abhagi” movie is inspired from the story “Abhagir Swarg”. The ugly aspects of the rural society of the sixties and seventies are shown in this movie. Although the context of the original story was more ancient. Several new characters have been added as central characters in the script of the movie. The real challenge was to create something new and different without distorting the original story.”
In the movie, Sion Ghosh will be seen as Mithila’s husband i.e. Risik. Subrata Dutta will be seen in the role of a landlord. Devyani Chatterjee will be seen in the role of a landlord’s wife. Apart from that, Krishna, Sourav Halder, Ishaan Majumder and others will act.
