Puducherry: A Puducherry court sentenced a private factory worker to 2 years imprisonment for sending obscene voice recordings about women in WhatsApp groups.

Karthik, 38, from Tiruvalluvar district; He worked in a private tire factory in Eripakkam, Puducherry. There was a problem between the two unions here.

On 9.8.2020, in 5 WhatsApp groups of more than 500 factory employees, Karthik posted obscenities about the wives of some employees working with him.

Based on the complaint, the cyber crime police arrested Karthik and filed a case in the Puducherry Chief Criminal Court.

Ganesh Gnanasampandan appeared for the government.

Judge Mohan, who heard the case, gave the verdict yesterday.

Based on the evidence provided by the mobile phone network company used by Karthik, under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2 years imprisonment and Rs. 11 thousand fine and ordered.
