Prohibited items were found and confiscated at noon on Friday in the premises of the Ioannina Detention Center, as part of a new surprise check by prison officials.
Initially, two improvised knives, 31.5 and 25 centimeters long, respectively, were found in a common area of the store. Following this, police officers from the Ioannina Security Sub-Directorate went to the scene, where a further check was carried out in the presence of the Prosecutor of Primary Ioannina, during which two improvised knives 15 and 11 cm long, a 33 cm long improvised metal glove, detached from a metal bed base, mobile phone with SIM card, mobile phone charger and twelve sealed aluminum cans of beer.
The above items will be sent for laboratory tests to the relevant forensic laboratories, while a preliminary investigation is carried out by the Ioannina Security Sub-Directorate.
