From August 12 to 23, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) will participate in the First National Public Health Day (JNSP) 2024, where it will provide more than 460 thousand immunizations, in more than 1,500 Family Medicine Unitsr.

The coordinator of Medical Programs at the Primary Care LevelEnrique Alcalá Martínez said that this campaign is focused on children under eight years of age, due to their vulnerability to certain diseases that can be prevented through vaccination.

He explained that during this day vaccines against Tuberculosis or BCG, Anti-hepatitis B, will be available. Hexavalent Acellular, Anti-rotavirus, Pneumococcal, Triple Viral and Triple Bacterial.

In addition to immunizingtion to pregnant women, Double viral, Tetanus and Diphtheria, as well as Human Papillomavirus (HPV), except for the Anti-influenza vaccine, since this will be applied during the winter season 2024-2025.

He explained that under the slogan “Get on Track with Your Health”, in addition to offering biologicals, the IMSS will provide actions such as: the application of 524,987 doses of vitamin A to children from six months to four years, provision of 1.2 million doses of antiparasitic for children from two to 14 years, and 700,370 sachets of Oral Serum Life to prevent diarrheal diseases and acute respiratory infections.
