in 2023, Romanian companies will not stop recruitment and salary increases

by time news

The year 2023 will be one of slowdown for Romania’s economy, which grew by 4.8% in 2022, but companies are not stopping recruitment and salary increases.

Thus, 9 out of 10 companies plan to actively recruit by the end of the year, and 56% of employers say that salaries will increase by 5% – 15% this year, according to a report by the human resources consulting company Hays Romania.

“Expectations for 2023 say that it will be a year of slowdown, even for actively growing economies, such as the Romanian one. Despite Romania’s current performance in terms of inflation rates and economic growth expectations, which is better than some of our Central European neighbors, organizations and employees should not be distracted from the potential future need to adjust strategies and recruitment expectations. However, the year starts with a fairly active business climate, with 9 out of 10 surveyed organizations planning to actively recruit by the end of the year”, writes Timur Makhmutov, managing director of Hays Romania.
