AGI – German car company Volkswagen expects half of its sales to be driven by electric cars in 2030. By 2040, the company estimates nearly 100% of its new vehicles in major markets they should be zero-emission vehicles. These goals are part of Volkswagen’s broader target of being fully carbon neutral by 2050

Volkswagen has allocated 73 billion euros for the development of future technologies between 2021 and 2025, which represents 50% of the company’s total investments.

In a further attempt to increase its electric vehicle offering, Volkswagen announced it would establish a “controlled battery supply chain”, introducing a unified battery format and opening six giga factories across Europe by 2030.
