The second phase of this year’s 16th Panhellenic Rowing Development Meeting, organized by the Thessaloniki Sailing Club, will be held at Lake Volvi in Macedonia this weekend.
The Nautical Club of Ioannina will take part in the event with a team of 19 novice rowers, who will fight for distinction in a total of nine events, while gaining valuable experience from official competitions. The team of N.O.I. consists of G. Lolis, A. Pappas, V. Lagos, X. Papagiannis, K. Kostoulas, M. Mastaka, M. Efthymiou, A. Koletsiou, X. Zygouri, S. Tsatsis, K. Syntilas, I. Tsakiris, A. Briasoulis, M. Gorgolis, G. Kanavos, E. Tsironis, H. Tsolkas, N. Tsembas and V. Varelis. The team’s coaches Vassilis Efthymiou and Fotis Liontos accompany the team.
A total of 90 crews with 155 competitors from 20 clubs throughout the country will take part in the Panhellenic Meeting, which concerns sportsmen and women aged 12-14 years. This is about the future of Greek rowing.
It is recalled that the first phase of the Meeting was successfully held at the end of last June in Ioannina, hosted by N.O.I. and N.O. Catherine.
